    Feb. 7 — If you are in the New York City area on or around February 17, 2000, you have an invitation to attend the unveiling ceremony of The Peace 2000 Literacy Mural celebrating the 87th birthday of Rosa Parks, the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement.

 

The event will feature the work of Faith Ringgold, renown artist and author.  Faith Ringgold is the author of Tar Beach, Aunt Harriet's Underground Railroad in the Sky and My Dream of Martin Luther King.  Her artwork is featured in some of the world's finest museums and galleries including the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C. and the Metropolitan Museum of American Art in New York.

The time and date for the event is February 17th, 2000 at 6:00 PM.
